There are indications that Bill Belichick’s time with the New England Patriots is coming to an end, but Rob Gronkowski isn’t giving up hope.
On “Up & Adams” Wednesday, Gronkowski said he would like to see Belichick and owner Robert Kraft put whatever differences they have aside to continue their partnership.
“In the end they both wanna win, they both wanna be champions,” Gronkowski said. “I can see them having a conversation and then them both trying to figure it out. Because they don’t want to start over. They’re both in a great position. They’re both winners. Why start over when they can both figure something out?”
One of the suggestions Gronkowski made was to explore if Belichick would be willing to cede some of his duties as general manager and focus on coaching, provided the new GM was Belichick-approved.
“If Coach Belichick can just focus on coaching, just imagine how good of a coach he could be if he just truly focuses on the players that are out on the field,” Gronkowski said.

This all sounds nice, but it might be too far-fetched at this point.
Patriots insider Tom Curran indicated this week that he still expects Belichick gone even though it hasn’t happened yet.
“I think it has a lot to do with the untangling of a 24-year union with an individual,” Curran said of the delay on a decision. “That untangling is going to take some time, especially if you want to keep the relationship intact going forward.”
