Bill Belichick’s future with the Patriots has been a popular topic this entire NFL season. With Week 18 almost here, the noise surrounding New England’s coaching staff is only getting louder.
Former Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski discussed Belichick’s future on “Up & Adams” this Wednesday. He still doesn’t believe his former coach will leave New England.
If the Patriots want to replace Belichick this offseason, Gronkowski probably wouldn’t mind seeing the franchise strike a deal with Jim Harbaugh.
When asked about Harbaugh’s future in the NFL, Gronkowski spoke highly of the Michigan coach.
“Jim Harbaugh is super hot right now, especially coming off that win vs. Alabama,” Gronkowski said. “He has experience in the NFL, he has success in the NFL with the 49ers.”
All the reports from NFL insiders suggest that Belichick will be coaching elsewhere next season.
Gronkowski, however, reiterated that he would be “shocked” if the Patriots got rid of Belichick in the offseason. Obviously, he has a ton of respect for his former coach.
