New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft is second-guessing a decision regarding wideout Jakobi Meyers.
In a recent interview, he confirmed that the team shouldn’t have let him go after the 2022 season.
“We shouldn’t have let him go,” Kraft said, via NESN.
Meyers left for the Raiders and had one of the best seasons of his career in 2023, finishing with 71 receptions for 807 yards and eight touchdowns.
His eight touchdowns were a career-high and his 807 yards are the second-most yards he’s had in a single season.
He ended up being replaced by JuJu Smith-Schuster, which didn’t go the way the Patriots thought it would. Smith-Schuster finished the 2023 season with 29 receptions for 260 yards and one touchdown.
He’s still on the team heading into the 2024 season after he signed a three-year deal last offseason. He’s joined by Kendrick Bourne, DeMario Douglas, and Jalen Reagor at the position.
They’ll be waiting to see who will be throwing them the ball since the Patriots have the No. 3 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.
There’s a great chance they get to walk away with one of Caleb Williams, Drake Maye, or Jayden Daniels.
