The New England Patriots and Bill Belichick officially parted ways on Thursday after over 20 years together.
It was a fun ride but owner Robert Kraft wanted to go in a different direction because of the way the last few seasons have gone.
“What’s gone on here the last 3-4 years isn’t what we want. Our job to fix it,” Kraft said.

The Patriots haven’t been the same since Tom Brady left.
After he bolted for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers before retiring last year, the Patriots missed the playoffs in three of four seasons. They also haven’t won a playoff game since Super Bowl LIII against the Los Angeles Rams.
Kraft will be hoping that a new coach at the helm will help get the Patriots back to contending but that alone won’t be enough.
They’ll also have to make quite a few roster moves to get going in the right direction.
