The University of Washington product served as a standard elevation on Sunday.
Jack Westover reverted to the New England Patriots’ practice squad on Monday after serving as a standard elevation at State Farm Stadium.
The 30-17 loss to the Arizona Cardinals marked the second appearance of the campaign for the rookie tight end.
Westover, 25, saw eight snaps on special teams on Sunday for an active depth chart also featuring Hunter Henry, Austin Hooper and fellow rookie Jaheim Bell. He previously served as a standard call-up in November versus the Miami Dolphins. The NFL debut brought a single snap on offense and 13 snaps in the kicking game prior to reverting.
Joining the practice squad in Foxborough in October, Westover originally entered the league Seattle Seahawks as part of the organization’s 2024 undrafted class. An injury settlement was reached amid training camp after the 6-foot-2, 245-pound tight end cleared waivers and landed on injured reserve.
A University of Washinton product, Westover played in 52 games for the Huskies dating back to 2018. An All-Pac-12 honorable mention last fall, his tenure included 87 receptions for 849 yards and six touchdowns. He also visited the end zone as a rusher.
One elevation remains for Westover under NFL rules before a move to the 53-man roster would be required to take the field.
The Buffalo Bills host next Sunday’s AFC East matchup at Highmark Stadium. Kickoff has been flexed to 4:25 p.m. ET.
