As the New England Patriots continue to search for answers on offense, the team is reportedly eyeing a number of available offensive players including a quarterback.
Per ESPN’s Mike Reiss, “The Patriots had the following free agents in for workouts: QB Austin Burton (Purdue), TE Michael Ezeike (UCLA), DB Cameron McCutcheon (Western Carolina), TE La’Michael Pettway (Iowa State) and TE Christian Sims (Bowling Green).”

Burton played 19 career games in college between his time at UCLA and Purdue where he completed 67% of his passes for 682 yards, four touchdowns and two interceptions. He also carried the ball 54 times for an additional 166 yards and another score.
The Patriots are dealing with massive issues on the offensive side of the ball and don’t appear to have a QB on the roster that anyone can believe in. Mac Jones was benched late in New England’s loss to the Giants after throwing for 89 yards and two picks.
Bill Belichick has yet to name a starter for the team’s next game.
