Two former Patriots have invested in a rival franchise.
Two members of the New England Patriots Hall of Fame have purchased an ownership stake in a rival franchise. Tom Brady and Richard Seymour, who own a combined nine Patriots Super Bowl rings between them, are now partial owners of the Las Vegas Raiders.
Both moves were voted on this week, and made official by the people involved on Tuesday. Whereas Brady will reportedly own a 5 percent share of the Raiders, Seymour’s percentage is not known at the moment.
Both men have previous connections to the Raiders and majority owner Mark Davis. Brady and Davis are both owners of the WNBA’s Las Vegas Aces, in a similar minority-majority split. Seymour, on the other hand, spent three seasons as a Raider to cap off his Hall of Fame career.
Since their purchases were made official, both men have released statements on the matter:
I’m deeply grateful—humbled and honored—to become a NFL owner. This is the mission of a lifetime, and I accept it with both purpose and pride. With great opportunity comes great responsibility. And I pledge to be a worthy steward of our game—and all it makes possible. @Raiders

Originally founded in Oakland, the Raiders spent time in Los Angeles as well before being moved to Las Vegas by Davis in 2020.
