The New England Patriots were defeated by the Miami Dolphins by a 15-10 margin on Sunday.
It was another game where the Patriots offense struggled to produce and come away with points. New England only had 299 yards of total offense, including 148 passing yards.
However, on the other side, defensively, the Patriots got gashed for 372 yards by a Dolphins offense led by backup quarterback Tyler Huntley. Perhaps the only positive was the fact that the Patriots got their ground game going with 151 total rushing yards.
Nevertheless, Miami adjusted quickly and made plays when they needed them. The game ultimately came down to an overturned touchdown call late in the fourth quarter. It was a pass play to rookie wide receiver Ja’Lynn Polk that would have given New England the lead.
However, the referees deemed the pass incomplete due to Polk not coming down completely with both feet inbounds.
One foot was flat inbounds and the other was a toe. Fans were vocally upset about the call and boos could be heard throughout the stadium. It was a disappointing performance all around for fans, with many voicing their frustrations on social media.
