How creative can you get with the Red Sox roster?
This past Thursday at Fenway Park, we saw one heck of a creative Red Sox fan.
Anna is taking Crochet days to a whole new level. Any day Garrett Crochet is on the mound, she’s crocheting a sweater. Only on Crochet days. That’s some amazing dedication, and it got me thinking: Are there any other activities inspired by the Red Sox roster we can do?
(Before we get started, I have to give a personal shoutout to our fellow writer Maura, who made coasters for the staff out of up-cycled leather goods and crocheted a border around them for our Crochet-inspired season item. They ROCK!)
Walker Buehler: Walk
OK, this feels like a gimme. Go take a walk, the sun is shining and the weather is finally warming up in Boston. It feels like we’re finally out of any random winter event and into real spring. Then again, New England has some messed up weather anyway.

Kristian Campbell: Eat Soup
Look, any time I see Campbell, I think of soup. It’s not the first time we’ve had a Boston athlete with the last name Campbell either; Gregory Campbell played for the Bruins from 2010-2015 and he was called Soupy every single day in my head. Similar association here.

Triston Casas: Flip Houses
Casas is the Spanish word for houses; note the plural here. You could build houses for Habitat for Humanity, you could renovate houses or build them for a living, and why do we limit this to the houses we live in? Flip over a house of cards, make a million gingerbread houses, the sky’s the limit!
Rafael Devers: Eat Ice Cream
We all know and love him as Raffy Big Scoops, and for how sensitive this author’s stomach may be to lactose, I’m always down for a milkshake, or a nice cone-cup with hot fudge on top. I’m gonna get up now and get one.
David Hamilton: Rap or Duel
Don’t throw away your shot—figuratively or literally. Go watch Hamilton on Disney+, splurge on a ticket to see the show on Broadway/tour, take a long drive and sing your heart out with some car karaoke to your heart’s content. If you’ve got a score to settle, challenge your foe to a duel! Maybe don’t make it lethal though.
Trevor Story: Read or Write
Again, this is a gimme. Go read a book, or if you’re a writer, craft some words yourself.
Jarren Duran: Start A Rock Band
Inspired by the iconic band Duran Duran, pick up an instrument of your own and have a wicked jam sesh. Are you the lead singer, a shredding guitar soloist, a background bass, keeping in steady on the drums? What about keyboard, or are you just fun enough playing a triangle at just the right moment? Go forth and find your place in the band, Dewey Finn style.
Rob Refsnyder: Rob
OK, this one we don’t recommend.
