A massive rubber game to start off the month of September.
After the offense got (almost) completely stymied by Tarik Skubal yesterday, the Boston Red Sox look to right the ship by taking the rubber game and series against the Detroit Tigers on Sunday afternoon. Cooper Criswell gets the call to the bump for the Sox up against Beau Brieske, which may or may not mean a bullpen game for Detroit since he’s only made seven starts in 34 appearances this season so far. A lot of lineup shuffling for Alex Cora compared to yesterday, let’s see if they can step up on this holiday weekend Sunday.
