Can the home side go for the sweep?
After a more convincing win last night over the Southsiders (thank you Don for some absolutely nostalgic commentary), the (Red) Sox look to keep momentum up and take the full gamut against Chicago. Chris Flexen is on the bump for the White Sox, while Richard Fitts seems likely to hit the hill for the Red Sox. This was originally supposed to be Brayan Bello’s start, but they’re pushing everyone back—namely Tanner Houck to pitch Friday at Yankee Stadium. The Sox are somehow still only four games back of the final Wildcard slot, with the Royals and Twins alternating losing streaks—this time it’s Minnesota on a two-game skid. The hopes are slim but not dead yet as every game still matters.
