Under .500 for the first time since June? That’s a dealbreaker, ladies
The Red Sox, under .500 for the first time in forever, look to be so back and not lose three in a row to the Rays tonight in St. Pete behind Tanner Houck (6:50 p.m., NESN).
Everything sucks right now, yes, but on the bright side, it’s almost over. The Sox, still hanging by a thread, haven’t gone to the time-wasting lineups, and for that we can also be thankful:
Tonight’s lineup for the Red Sox against the Rays:
1. Jarren Duran CF
2. Rafael Devers 3B
3. Tyler O’Neill LF
4. Masataka Yoshida DH
5. Connor Wong C
6. Wilyer Abreu RF
7. Triston Casas 1B
8. Trevor Story SS

Despite their terrible stadium, their near-nonexistent culture and their sub-.500 record, the Rays are still allowed to play, and if they win tonight will push the Sox toward last place once more. These are the cretins who will try:

Does it look good? No. Does it matter? Certainly not. I still had fun this season, but right now the fun is waning. Unless we are so back. In which case, forget all this!
