Garrett Crochet makes his Fenway debut!
Tonight, two men will play in their second game since signing a huge contract extension.
For the Blue Jays, it will be Vladimir Guerrero, $500 million richer and batting second.
For the Sox, it will be Garrett Crochet, who makes his second start after agreeing to his new deal, and his first at Fenway Park in the home whites.
Unfortunately, Mother Nature looks to cool down this hot matchup with frigid westerly winds that could gust to 40mph at times. This means anything hit out to right field between the bullpens and Pesky’s Pole is going to get a major assist this evening. However, balancing things out will be the temperature, which looks to fall through the 30s while wind chills fall through the 20s.
It’s a miserable night to try and hit the ball, but anybody who does get one in the air to right is going to be rewarded in ridiculous fashion.
So if you’re going to the game to greet Garrett in his first Fenway start, there’s only two rules: Be loud, and dress warmly!
