And let’s not even think about what nickname Vaughn Grisson would get…
Worcester, W 5-3
Where is the Bobby Dalbec statue going to go, Worcester Common or City Square? Bobby Bombs did it again last night, hitting his 16th homer and 13th double in 83 minor league games. Meanwhile, Vaughn Grissom only struck out once! Sure, he’s also riding an 0-15 reverse-heater, but it’s a gorgeous Friday morning, so let’s focus on the positives.
Portland, L 3-1
Liam Hendriks made his second rehab appearance, this one at the AA level after pitching for Worcester earlier this week. He only faced three hitters, giving up a hit, a walk, and a stolen base, while inducing a line-out. One of his next steps before returning to the big leagues will be pitching on back-to-back days.
Greenville, W 6-4
It’s probably time to start worrying about Miguel Bleis a bit. The former top-100 prospect has now played 42 games at high-A, slashing just .189/.259/.309. We’re still in small sample size territory here, though, and on the plus side, he has popped 5 homers in those 42 games.
Salem, W 5-4
With just 15 games left in Salem’s season, Nazzan Zannetello has run out of time to turn around his disappointing entry into professional baseball. He’s gone hitless in three of last four games, while striking out eight times.
