They can’t be cheap and stupid on these things
Happy Monday.
Nolan Arenado blocked a trade to Houston. If the Red Sox go hard after him, they won’t have trouble getting an approval. Sources tell me and @Sean_McAdam that the Red Sox are a preferred destination — if not the preferred destination — for Arenado:https://t.co/fMMrYSe8Sf

And despite Craig Breslow denying these rumors, Chris Cotillo continues his crusade to (checks notes) rid Boston of their first baseman.
Within this: there’s still a strong industry belief that Triston Casas is very much available. https://t.co/5hH4ir7V6f

Can the Red Sox really afford bad contracts like Bregman and Arenado if they couldn’t afford to sign a single starting pitcher? Can Devers play first base well enough to compensate for Arenado’s very much in decline bat?
The other part of this is they could swap Masataka Yoshida, who kinda can hit at least, to the Cardinals. Does Chaim Bloom really want him that badly?
Talk about what you want and be good to one another.
