Who do you like?
Happy Monday.
The Cleveland Guardians gave up the ghost and will continue to add to their World Series drought. Their last championship was in 1948 – 76 years. They’re just a decade shy of the legendary Boston Red Sox streak/curse/situation. It was so long ago they defeated the Boston Braves. If you were in college when 2004 happened you’d be almost 100 without seeing another World Series win. Jimmy Carter, famously just turning 100, was a mere 24!
And then there’s the National League. The New York Mets Grimaces gave it a shot but they were no match for Tommy Edman. In just one season with the Dodgers, Shohei Ohtani makes it into the playoffs and reaches the World Series. While teammates with Mike Trout and Albert Pujols he never even saw a winning season.
Game 1 isn’t until Friday so try to occupy yourself until then.
