Beat writers have started the rumor mill
TGIF.
Well, it’s rumor mill season again and the Red Sox are connected to every major free agent.
Sigh.
However there were a lot of things that went right this year. And some that went wrong – like Triston Casas missing most of the season – aren’t things you expect every year (although do try to be prepared for something to go awry).
This was an 81-81 team that had pitching running on fumes for two months. A bullpen that was never really reliable. Big holes in the infield.
To a lot of owners this is a team to invest in.
Prospects aren’t guarantees of performance. But if you think one or two of the Big Four will help in 2025 then adding (sigh) Blake Snell alone might make this team sniff October baseball.
It’s too early fort this for be a Thanksgiving post, and the way the off-seasons go these days Thanksgiving will still be the quiet period, but John Henry, if you’re out there, a lot of fans would be pretty thankful (in addition to spending money at your park!) for a step up and a return to exciting days at Fenway Park.
Talk about what you want and be good to one another.
