There’s a bit more to do…
Happy Monday.
We’ve hit the post-Winter Meetings and pre-January 1st quiet period for MLB teams and players. The somewhat steady stream of news has come to a halt. While it doesn’t mean there won’t be any news there isn’t an assumption that lots of moves are about to happen.
Even Corbin Burnes is left to check MLBTraderumors to see where he will pitch in 2025.
Right now the Red Sox starting rotation looks like this:
- Garrett Crochet
- Tanner Houck
- Brayan Bello
- Kutter Crawford
- Lucas Giolito/Richard Fitts/Cooper Criswell
That’s better than 2024 for sure. But one more name there might be nice to have because if Houck can repeat his breakout, Bello develops a little more, and Crawford doesn’t lead the majors in home runs allowed that’s still a lot of innings penciled in primarily for a guy who missed 2024.
If Burnes is too rich for John Henry what’s the alternative? Sean Manaea? Another trade? Somehow luring Roki Sasaki to Boston?
Talk about what you want and be good to one another.
