Like the wheels on the bus
Happy Tuesday.
The Red Sox notched another tie yesterday. Ah, Spring Training.
Quinn Priester will pitch against his form team, the Pittsburgh Pirates, today. His spring has been unremarkable so far, but he’s also only tossed 4 innings.
Has half a year with Andrew Bailey made much difference? We’ll know soon enough. And if it has he probably makes a strong case to be the first guy called up when the Sox need an extra starter due to injury, weather, illness etc.
Roman Anthony isn’t thinking about a contract extension just yet but is saying the right things.
“I want to be a Red Sox for as long as I can, but it would have to be something for me that was just an absolute no-brainer,” he told Speier. “Other than that, I’m just going to try and do it the good old-fashioned way and try and go out there and just get better every day and not worry about a paycheck. Minimum salary in the big leagues is a lot of damn money, and it’s a lot of damn money to be able to play a kid’s game for a living.
If he really is special these rookie year contracts can be wins for the player and the team. Regardless, hopefully he makes a big splash on the field!
Talk about what you want and be good to one another.
