Hello darkness my old friend
Happy Monday.
The Olympics are done.
The Houston Astros are gone.
The Red Sox sit at 61-55, 7.5 games back in the AL East, 3.0 games back in the Wild Card, 31.6% chance to make the playoffs per FanGraphs.
They have 10 more games before their next off day and James Paxton, well, down.

The brutal stretch of games against the Dodgers, Rockies, (eh) Yankees, Royals, Astros, Mariners, Rangers, and Orioles so far has Boston at 8-13.
They did just take 2-3 from the Texas Rangers on the road so hopefully the Rangers at Fenway don’t play any better.
Remembering 2004:
Game 114: Tim Wakefield had a bad day with the knuckler and Boston lost to the White Sox 8-7, although home runs by Manny Ramirez and Kevin Millar kept it that close. 63-51.
Game 115: A win! A 4-3 victory over the Pale Hose. Manny and Papi each homered for Boston. Carl Everett homered for Chicago. 64-51.
Game 116: A 5-4 loss for Boston as Mark Buehrle out-dueled Bronson Arroyo. Dámaso Marte came in to face one batter, Doug Mientkiewicz, but instead faced pinch hitter Kevin Millar, who did, in fact, record a hit. That ended his outing. Won’t see that to often these days! 64-52.
The Sox are back at it against the Rangers at 7:10 PM ET.
Talk about what you want and be good to one another.
