Hanging around…
Happy Wednesday.
The Red Sox lost, dropping to 73-72. They are now back to 4.0 games out of the Wild Card. Boston is 3-7 over the last 10 games. The Minnesota Twins are 4-6. The Detroit Tigers are 6-4. They didn’t need to be all that good to wrap this up but that team seems to have packed it in at the All Star Break.
There is one more game against the Baltimore Orioles today and then it’s off to New York to face a division-leading Yankees team that has been under .500 for months but better than the rest of the AL East.
Remembering 2004
Game 145: An 11-4 win over the Tampa Bay Devil Rays to improve to 88-57. Kevin Millar and Johnny Damon homered. Rays’ starter Mark Hendrickson gave up 6 runs in 5 innings which seems bad but two relievers later, John Webb, in one of his five major league appearances over 2004-2005, allowed 5 more runs in 1.1 innings.
Talk about what you want and be good to one another.
