The Spring Sox travel up the coast again today, this time to Bradenton to face the Pittsburgh Pirates. The most notable thing about today’s lineup is probably that it features both Vaughn Grissom and Kristian Campbell, with Campbell getting the start in left while Grissom remains at second base.
Is this a sign that the Red Sox are anticipating Bregman to spend most of the season at second? Are they concerned about outfield depth? Eh — don’t read too much into spring lineups. Campbell was always going to bounce around the diamond this year because he’s a stellar athlete who may force his way into the big leagues before there’s an obvious roster spot for him.
