This afternoon the Red Sox will take on the Rays at Charlotte Sports Park in Charlotte, Florida, aka the other of the Rays’ two spring training ballparks that they’ll call home this season. There is likely only one Red Sox regular in the lineup today (Ceddanne Rafaela, who will be patrolling center and batting third), but this is nonetheless a very exciting collection of talent:
Now for the Grapefruit League!
That’s two of the big three in the starting lineup, along with the intriguing Quinn Priester, who is almost certainly going to make some big league starts for the Sox this year and has the pedigree to break into the rotation for good.
There’s still several inches of ice on the ground so light a fire, crack open a beer (preferably something dark), maybe pair it with some room temperature Alpine cheese and enjoy real, live actual baseball this afternoon.
