You’re never always right.
Shea Hillenbrand had one good season for the Red Sox, then it all went to shit. He bounced around the league and eventually ended up on the Blue Jays, where he had one good season before it all went to shit.
Specifically, Hillenbrand did not get along with manager John Gibbons. Benched twice after adopting a child, and mad that the team didn’t acknowledge it, Hillenbrand wrote on the team whiteboard that the “ship was sinking,” Gibbons challenged him to a fight and said one of them would be off the team soon. Of course, it wasn’t the manager. Hillenbrand continued to play for a few years but that was basically that.
Later, he said he was sorry for the Gibbons affair, called himself a dickhead and said he was dealing with mental issues while he played. That’s all you can ask, really, and look at him in the pic! He’s hanging with Guy Fieri! We could all use a big of humble pie if that’s where it’s gonna land us.

Hillenbrand’s Humble Pie
- A sense of humility
Bryan’s Notes
I’m not trying to be too autobiographical here, but as someone who has eaten a lot of metaphorical shit the last few years, often deservingly so, and as someone who finally started a good new job on Monday, I highly recommend this pie.
- Take sense of humility
- Get over yourself and enjoy life like you’re visiting Flavortown
