The Boston Red Sox embark on their final road trip of the season, heading north of the border to visit the Toronto Blue Jays for a three-game series at Rogers Centre.
Boston arrives after earning a series win and a doubleheader sweep over the Minnesota Twins over the weekend at Fenway Park. A slugging offensive performance and a three-homer performance of Triston Casas paved the way to victory for the Red Sox.
Casas hits third on Monday night while Trevor Story slots right before him in the No. 2 spot. Nick Sogard gets the start at third base, while Vaughn Grissom bats eighth at second base. Connor Wong will catch and bat sixth for Alex Cora’s group.
Tanner Houck gets the mound for the Red Sox. He tossed four innings while on a pitch count, allowing just one run on four hits with four strikeouts, his last time out against the Tampa Bay Rays. The Red Sox right-hander and 2024 All-Star makes his 30th start of the season, reaching that total for the first time in his MLB career.
The Blue Jays counter with Chris Bassitt, who holds a 0-1 record and a 2.29 ERA in three starts against the Red Sox this season.
Boston and Toronto play the series opener, with first pitch at 7:07 p.m. ET. You can catch the game, plus an hour of pregame coverage, on NESN.
